The Art of Horn Players Celebrated at Lipp in the Heart of the Latin Quarter
Lipp, the grand Parisian brasserie frequented by the elite of politics, literature, art, and fashion, opened since the 19th century in the heart of the Latin Quarter, in the shadow of the bell tower of Saint-Germain-des-Prés church, across from the Deux-Magots and the Café de Flore, came alive last Monday, March 17th, with the sound of horns and the songs of the horn players.
Nicolas Dromer, Grégory Pichard, Jérome Amelot, and Guillaume Cintrat, wearing hunting vests, hosted a cheerful and joyous evening over abundant sauerkraut and fine wines from Alsace and Bordeaux. Sophie de Laporte, President of the FRTM; Cyrille Vernes, for the Hunting Society; Jean-Pierre Lecoq, Mayor of the 6th arrondissement of Paris; Philippe Douste-Blazy, who came with his family; all the tourists and dignitaries present applauded the ETIMD quartet, which was joined for a few fanfares played at the doors of the famous restaurant by the horn players of the RTY, the Rallye Trompes d'Yauville.
By choosing Lipp to promote the hunting horn in Paris, the FITF Ile-de-France delegation once again supported UNESCO's decision to classify the art of horn playing as an intangible heritage of humanity in 2020.
