Anticipated Saint-Hubert Mass at the Royal Chapel of the Palace of Versailles

with the Débuché de Paris

At the request of Father Marc Boulle, Vicar General of the Diocese of Versailles, Chaplain of the Sovereign Order of Malta, the Fondation pour le Rayonnement de la Trompe Musicale (under the aegis of the Fondation de France) asked the Débuché de Paris, under the direction of Guillaume Caucat, to sound the anticipated Saint-Hubert Mass which was celebrated on Sunday, October 6 at the Royal Chapel of the Palace of Versailles.

Every day, usually in the morning at 10 o'clock, the court attended the King's Mass. It is in memory of this ceremony and this daily Mass of the very Christian King that the Débuché de Paris revived the great pages of the masses for horns by including in its program the most beautiful pieces from the religious repertoire of Sylvain Oudot, one of the most renowned composers for hunting horn at the beginning of the 20th century.

This Mass was given in homage to Guy de Laporte and Louis Cottin.
