NOTRE-DAME DE PARIS

ST. HUBERT'S MASS

Archbishop of Paris Monsignor Michel Aupetit officiated this mass with the participation of the Débuché de Paris, conducted by Guillaume Caucat, and the Trompes Royales Dampierre, conducted by Dimitry Donders. Henri Chalet conducted the Maîtrise Notre-Dame de Paris and Yves Castagnet was on the choir organ.

Several pieces from the great traditional repertoire of the Débuché de Paris were sounded, along with two new works: La Cathédrale à la haute futaie, a poem written for this mass by Sir Michael Edwards of the Académie Française and set to music by Sylvain Oudot, and Louez le Seigneur au son de la trompe (Psalm 97), a composition by Jean-Charles Gandrille.
The FRTM included in the musical offering the Fédération Internationale des Trompes de France, which celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2018, the Fondation François Sommer pour la Chasse et la Nature, the Académie Musicale de Villecroze, and the Accademia di Sant'Uberto, which initiated the request for the horn to be placed on UNESCO’s intangible heritage list. The ceremony, which was opened by the procession of the Hubertins of the Kingdom of Belgium, was broadcast live on the channel KTO.
